Welcome to the Hindley Green Family Church website. If you are new to the area or looking for a spiriitual home or just wondering what 'Church' is all about it would be our pleasure to meet you one Sunday morning. We have Lively Worship starting at 10.45 with Solid Bible Teaching and Breaking of Bread. The meeting officially ends at 12.00 noon and there is always a chance to meet new friends afterwards as we enjoy coffee and cakes together in our cafe.
Whilst we are an independent and autonomous church we are fully supportive of all the Wigan Churches (and indeed churches around the world) where Jesus Christ is proclaimed as Lord and where the Bible is taught as the Word of God.
HGFC may be a local church but it has a distinctly international flavour with nine or ten different countries from three continents represented in the congregation. We support individuals and ministries around the world and look after the education and care of many children at home, in India, Africa and South America.
We are a growing group of ordinary people from babes and toddlers to octogenarians who love the Lord Jesus Christ and long to see Him glorified in our local area and across the world.
Whilst we have able leadership we believe that every believer is a minister and we strive to develop people, guiding them to recognise and fulfil their potential. Our desire is to release men and women into their ministry with all the help and encouragement we can give them.
We meet at The Bethel Community Centre which the church manages for the benefit of the wider community.
We meet at the Bethel, a community building which stands on a site where there has been a christian community meeting for over 150 years. Nowadays it is appropriate for buildings to serve the whole community so the church manages the Bethel with this in mind.
Directions. The Bethel is on Atherton Road (A577) in the centre of Hindley Green about half way between Atherton and Hindley. We are at the Traffic light controlled T junction opposite Leigh Road and there is parking round the back.
All enquiries to do with the building should be directed to Eddie Marshall who has for many years done a fabulous job of maintaining the building itself and managing the use of the facilities. The community owes Eddie a debt of gratitude and appreciates all he does.
