The 25 highest-paid Bundesliga players in 2023-24: Where does Jadon Sancho rank?
Jadon Sancho has joined Borussia Dortmund on loan for the remainder of the season, but where does the Manchester United man rank among the top-paid players in the Bundesliga?
It’s fair to say that Sancho’s time at Old Trafford hasn’t gone to plan and fingers crossed he manages to get his career back on track with Dortmund in the second half of the season.
The 23-year-old enjoyed the best spell of his career with the German club as he scored 50 goals in just 137 appearances during his four years in the Bundesliga.
Dortmund themselves have been pretty inconsistent of late and they will be hoping that Sancho will be able to make an impact in the second half of the campaign.
Marco Rose’s side currently sit fifth in the Bundesliga and trail league leaders Bayer Leverkusen by a whopping 15 points.
Given the lucrative deal that Sancho is currently on at Old Trafford, it probably won’t come as much of a surprise to learn that he will be the highest earner at the club upon his arrival.
However, Sancho won’t be the highest-paid player in the Bundesliga itself as several of Bayern Munich’s top stars are currently earning more than the 23-year-old.
Harry Kane became the top-paid footballer in the Bundesliga upon his arrival from Tottenham in the summer. The England captain signed a four-year deal with the Bavarian giants, which runs until 2027.
He’ll certainly be well-remunerated over the course of his stint in Germany, with his wages of almost half a million Euros a week making him one of the very top-paid players in world football.
The 30-year-old striker is picking up a heftier pay packet than any player in the Premier League, with only Kylian Mbappe and Frenkie de Jong earning more in Europe’s top five leagues.
The Bundesliga’s top earners list brings into sharp focus Bayern’s dominance in Germany. The perennial champions are responsible for the top nine earners in the Bundesliga, and their wage bill is over double that of their closest competitor, Borussia Dortmund.
